Program Overview

Island Innovators Bahamas ran its inaugural pilot program in the summer of 2025 — two sessions over an 8-week period in Nassau, providing hands-on instruction across music, coding, and robotics in a professional, collaborative setting.

Fourteen students ages 9–17 participated, engaging in structured daily instruction across all three subject areas from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

The program operated on a tiered access model, with need-based scholarships awarded to ensure students from a range of economic backgrounds could participate. Accessibility was built into the program from the start — not added later — and it shaped the cohort in meaningful ways, including extending access to students from the Ranfurly Homes for Children.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The 2025 pilot proved what a serious creative ecosystem can look like here. The 2026 program is the refined version — a music performance and production intensive where students develop performance and production together, building toward a public showcase. The commitment standard goes up.
